Our History and Our FutureBloodLine as it is today is a collection of refugees from the Firefoot server in Lord of the Rings Online and Tyranny in AoC. We all came to AoC seeking true end game content. Although we did not find what we were looking for there, we have remained good friends, and continue to play games together.
The launch of Age of Conan gave us the opportunity to take things to the next level and to again make a name for ourselves server-wide. We were one of the first guilds on Tyranny to attain a battle keep, and we successfully defended that keep many times, never losing a siege defense (the keep was finally lost after we had quit playing AoC).
The current version of BloodLine includes many of the top pvp’rs and raiders from both LotRO and AoC; including, many members of Orc Heads & Maiden Beds, Bad Guys, Shadow, Warlord’s Council, and a select few other top PvP players from Firefoot and Tyranny.
“Aim at perfection in everything, though in most things it is unattainable. However, they who aim at it, and persevere, will come much nearer to it than those whose laziness and despondency make them give it up as unattainable.”- Lord Chesterfield
We will strive for perfection. We will look to improve ourselves everyday in everything we do. We will demand this from our members and we will settle for nothing less. Simply put, we strive to be the most dominant guild in whatever game we play, while maintaining a reputation of being both fair and competitive. We strive to accomplish great feats together and continually push ourselves to face the next challenge with full intensity. Most of us would be considered “hardcore”, in the sense that we take our in-game goals seriously, but at the same time we are an older crowd, and we realize that jobs and family come first.
To be a member of Bloodline is to continually become better at whatever rises to challenge us. The development of all our following guidelines were made with these goals in mind. Our application process is and will remain extremely selective to ensure our future success and a mutually shared goal between guild and member.
What We Expect from Our MembersBloodLine expects every member to be the best of the best in everything you do. No drama might sound nice, but it includes how you act in and outside the guild groups, as well as within guild only groups. Our expectations are high for a reason. We want every group you join to be a recruitment tool, and every non-guild member to walk away saying "WOW, I want to join those guys!"
Within that best of the best attitude, we want to have as much fun as possible; this is a game after all. We expect all of our members to treat each other in a manner they would want to be treated themselves, and outside members of the guild even better than that. Every member must remember that they are a representative of the guild everywhere they go, and as the best of the best we will be targeted in anything negative we do.
Every member is also expected to Raid. If something comes up and you cannot raid on a day we have it planned, no problem. We also expect every member to want to raid with their main if they are online and needed (if you have the time to commit).
CommunicationPerhaps the most important element of creating a strong raid force is overcoming the great barrier of communication. This can be accomplished by following some simple steps that we will detail further below.
Ventrilo: Blood Line requires every member to have Ventrilo installed. You do not have to speak, but it is often helpful. If you do not know how to install or use this program, contact an officer and they will help you.
http://www.ventrilo.com/The Website: We want to encourage all of our members to stay very active on our website. We have built in many places for people to use their creativity and have fun interacting with their fellow guild mates.
The forums are a great place for people to share information not only on quests and game updates but also to share funny stories and pictures. This is also the place where ideas should be shared and even controversial issues should be discussed. We are totally democratic and the best way to share your ideas with every member is to put them in writing on the forums.
The Calendar tab will be a key part of our daily checklist for members to take part in down the road. Raids will typically be scheduled at least a week in advance and we encourage all of our members to sign up for the raids that they feel they can attend. There is no penalty if a person signs up and is unable to attend, but we ask that if this occurs, that an officer be notified ahead of time if possible. When our members sign up for raids, it provides the officers with an important head count that will help determine if modifications need to be made to the schedule.
The Main page offers several windows of information. One of our goals is to make a truly unique website that will proudly display our accomplishments as well as share our fun personalities with others. We encourage our members to post pictures of themselves and their families to share with your fellow guild mates. We will also be posting fun pictures because who doesn’t enjoy a good laugh!
LeadershipBloodLine is a democracy, of sorts. We have officers in the guild who are nominated by members, then discussed, and promoted by the current leaders. There is no one leader or head of BloodLine, and all officers have the same say on any policies or decisions.
The Raid leader is to be an officer and would assume a "Leader of Leaders" role for that raid. He/she would still discuss with other officers on important issues, but the final say is up to the Raid leader. This is to keep the raid moving and over-discussion of an issue from happening. If there is any issue with any officer or member with what the Raid Leader has declared on that raid, the forums would be the place to bring it up. No Raid Leader is above constructive criticism or new ideas, but there is a time and place to bring them up.
Bringing it all TogetherOur goal is to be at the top in whatever game we play, and to be known for our integrity, honesty, and focus on unity. We have put years of raiding experience into forming a system that we feel is more fair and rewarding to our members as well as ensure that we’re progressing at a steady rate. This document will be ever changing as it morphs to fit the needs and demands of our members. Thanks for taking the time to review our guild charter.
